Challenge of the week:
Read Psalms 1
Choose a section of the chapter to base your prayer on. If you want to take it a step further, use the whole chapter or write a prayer to send to someone else.
Psalms 1:1-3
Happy are those who don't listen to the wicked, who don't go where sinners go, who don't do what evil people do.
They love the Lord's teachings, and they think about those teachings day and night.
They are strong, like a tree planted by a river. The tree produces fruit in season, and its leaves don't die. Everything they do will succeed.
Who doesn't want to be happy and successful?
I know I do! God you know that that combination is at the top of my list. God I come to you because I know you can see things that I can't and you have powers beyond what I can understand. There are obvious 'wicked people' and not so obvious ones so I give you permission to help me in differentiating who I should listen to and who I shouldn't. Help me to take note of the place and environments I put myself in. Teach me to care about the long term rather that the instant gratification so that I can experience true happiness and success in all areas of my life.
